LES PETITS PRÖDIGES: WOMEN'S ENTREPRENEURSHIP AT THE SERVICE OF NATURAL COSMETICS

LES PETITS PRÖDIGES, START'UP WINNER OF THE REC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

The Start'Up Les Petits Prodiges is the winner of REC Développement, a free support program for scaling up carried by REC Innovation.

A MINIMALIST AND MULTI-PURPOSE NATURAL BRAND

The beauty routine is a huge source of waste. Between the bottles, tubes and jars, 75,000 tonnes of packaging for cosmetic and hygiene products are thrown away each year in France . The equivalent of the weight of ten Eiffel Towers.

Created in 2017 , by two women, Clémentine Granet and Camille Brégeaut, the brand Les Petits Prödiges proposes to revisiting the essentials of the hygiene and beauty routine.

To return to basics and simplify its beauty routine to make it more eco-responsible, the brand offers 100% natural and made in France products . Eco-responsible, meaning that they are not tested on animals and do not contain parabens, preservatives, sulphates or alcohol.

Made in a small laboratory in the South of France, these products are made from simple ingredients such as shea butter, sunflower oil and coconut oil.

Their flagship product, the multi-use balm is designed to replace all your daily creams. On its own, the multi-use mixed balm can replace up to 10 different creams.

A ZERO-WASTE LOGIC

The Petits Prödiges range is made up of cosmetic products which are good for the skin, but also for the environment !

Camille and Clémentine apply their logic even in the packaging of their products. The balm is packaged in a small reusable metal box and the deodorant in a biodegradable packaging!

BEING WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS

Today, even though the number of women entrepreneurs is increasing every day, they represent only 8% of entrepreneurship in France .

The two partners nevertheless rose to the challenge. Today their products are sold all over France, at Monoprix, Galeries Lafayette, in organic cosmetics stores and also in pharmacies.

Before getting started, Camille Brégeaut and Clémentine Granet , both held positions in Marketing in the cosmetics industry , at Birchbox for 1 year before becoming Business Developer at Beauteprivée for more than 3 years for Clémentine and at Darphin, for 3 years for Camille.

No wonder they embarked on an entrepreneurial adventure, especially after a few years of professional experience in the cosmetics sector.

As they share in the Startup Story article, the two associates began to reflect on their entrepreneurial project by observing around them and drawing on their respective professional experiences. They found that in our bathrooms, there are too many cosmetic products. And each product itself is made up of too many ingredients, sometimes harmful to us and to the planet. Not to mention the cost of these multiple ultra-specialized products. They therefore have one idea in mind: to change our consumption habits, by making us adopt products that are more ecological, more natural, and above all multi-use.

They decided to test the market with a first product which is their famous multi-use moisturizing balm

THE WONDERS OF COSMETICS

They launched a crowdfunding campaign (pre-sale) on Ulule at the end of 2017 to finance the manufacture of this first product and at the same time to confront potential customers. And it's a real success as the campaign surpassed its initial goal, and hit the 400% pre-orders .

Since then they have developed their range and now offer, in addition to their balms, deodorants .

Their ambition today is to establish themselves internationally and to further develop their range with all the products of the room essential baths: toothpaste, shampoo etc.

CONTAINMENT NEWS: THE LITTLE PRÖDIGES DONATE NOURISHING BALMS TO CAREGIVERS

The brand donated nearly 2000 boxes of its flagship product to nursing staff in the Paris region . The balm helps to take care of their dry hands by the intensive use of hydroalcoholic gels.

A major solidarity effort for this young start-up. Well done to them!
