Solar FAQs

How do you use the Sun Stick?

Push up the bottom of the tube and apply the stick to your face or lips. The sun stick melts with the warmth of your skin. Simple, practical use !

Apply generously before sun exposure. Reapply often, especially after each swim. Overexposure to the sun is dangerous for your health. Avoid sun exposure during peak sunshine hours. Do not expose babies and young children to the sun. Avoid the eye area. In case of direct contact with the eyes, rinse immediately. Store at room temperature.

What is the texture of the Sun Stick?

The sun stick has a creamy, non-greasy texture that absorbs quickly and melts on contact with the skin.

Can I apply it to my children?

Our sun stick has been specially tested and formulated to suit the whole family: it is suitable for babies from 6 months, children and adults.

Does the SPF 50+ Sun Stick leave a white cast on the skin?

Rest assured, it won't leave any white cast at all: our formula contains only completely transparent organic UV filters, unlike inorganic (or "mineral") filters, which, unless tinted, inevitably leave a more or less white film on the skin's surface. So all skin tones are protected without an unsightly whitish effect!

What's the difference between SPF 30, 50 and 50+?

SPF refers to UVB protection: SPF 30 lets through about 3% of UVB rays, while SPF 50 lets through 2%—a notable 50% difference! With a protection factor above 50, you're also much better protected against UVA: in Europe, when the UVA logo is circled, it means the UVA protection is at least one third of the UVB protection—that's 20 for SPF 50+.

What is a new-generation organic UV filter?
  • An organic UV filter is a synthetically created filter, as opposed to an inorganic, so-called "mineral" filter, which is of natural origin. Organic filters absorb UVA and UVB rays, while mineral filters mainly reflect UVB and only a little UVA. We chose to use non-controversial organic filters, recognized for their effectiveness and their completely invisible finish. For us, it's the best compromise available today.
  • Some chemical filters are old and date back to the 1970s. They can cause skin reactions. But the market has evolved a lot since then, and the term "next-generation filters" refers to those released in the last 10 years: highly effective and leaving no trace. We took care to select the best on the market.

More effective protection than traditional organic filters.

Greater safety (no chemicals harmful to health or the environment).

Better skin tolerance

What's the difference between UVB and UVA?

UVB rays are the "visible" rays of the sun, responsible for sunburn and skin cancer: they are very dangerous between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. UVA rays, on the other hand, are present regardless of the time of day, weather or season: they are what cause skin aging and dark spots.

How are the ecotoxicity tests carried out?

A culture method makes it possible to reproduce a model organism (non-living, so no harm is done to animals). Cultures of the model organism are incubated for 7 days with different sunscreens in order to calculate the cell viability rate with the sunscreens. Coral cell viability remained almost intact with our sunscreen (98%) vs. the two others, which dropped to 65%... (with mineral filters).

Can pregnant women use it?

Our sun stick has been specifically tested and is perfectly suited to pregnant and breastfeeding women.

Can it be used on a tattoo or a scar?

Yes, absolutely! The SPF50 Facial Sun Stick is specifically designed to precisely protect sensitive areas such as tattoos and scars, as well as the face and moles. Its stick format allows targeted application, and its high SPF50 protection effectively protects against UVA and UVB. Remember to reapply every 2 hours and after each swim.

How often should you reapply the sun stick when skiing?

Every 2 hours and after sweating/prolonged exposure; on the nose and cheekbones every 60–90 min in strong sunshine/glare.

Can you apply the sun stick under a ski mask?

Yes, apply it to your nose, cheekbones and exposed areas before putting on your goggles; let it absorb for 1 min to avoid transfer onto the lens.

Invisible SPF 50 face sun stick, on-the-go protection for the whole family

Adopting a SPF 50 face sun stick means building sun protection into your routine in a compact, precise, travel-friendly format. The Les Petits Prödiges SPF 50 Face Sun Stick offers high protection against UVA and UVB rays in a creamy texture that melts on contact with the skin and leaves a completely invisible finish on all skin tones. A simple step to slip into your bag, pocket or travel kit to protect your face and sensitive areas at any time of day: at the beach, in the city, on a walk, on the slopes or after sports.

This sun stick was designed for the whole family. It suits adults, children, babies from 6 months, pregnant and breastfeeding women, and sensitive skin. Its high SPF 50 protection covers exposed areas (face, ears, nose, cheekbones, décolleté) and allows targeted application on sensitive areas such as tattoos, scars or moles, which are often hard to protect with a classic sunscreen. Its travel-friendly format makes it easy to reapply throughout the day, especially after swimming, heavy sweating or towel drying. Even with appropriate protection, it's important not to expose babies and young children directly to the sun, especially during the hottest hours.

As for the formula, this stick concentrates three new-generation organic UV filters that are highly effective and photostable, selected for their excellent skin tolerance and their transparent finish on all skin tones, with no whitening effect. Its creamy, non-greasy texture absorbs quickly without leaving marks on clothes or makeup. It is enhanced with a delicate summer fragrance with green, floral and fruity notes, to extend the sensory pleasure with every use. Water-resistant, the SPF 50 Face Sun Stick keeps up with outdoor activities, though it needs regular reapplication to maintain optimal protection.

To use, push up the bottom of the tube to raise the stick, then apply generously to the face or sensitive areas, going over them several times until the whole area is covered. Reapply every two hours and after each swim, heavy sweating or towel drying. Made in France, this sun stick comes in a recyclable cardboard tube and is rated 100/100 on Yuka. In case of strong reflection (sea, mountains, skiing), feel free to reapply to the nose and cheekbones every 60 to 90 minutes. A compact, precise and reliable companion for all your adventures in the sun.
