Solar FAQs

How do you use the different balms in this Quartet?

Scoop out a pea-sized amount of balm, warm it in the palm of your hand until it turns into oil, then gently massage it into the desired area. You can apply it morning, evening and as often as needed.

The four balms can be used in many ways:

  • Face: in the evening, as the last step of your routine, to nourish and protect the skin.
  • Body and hands: on dry or rough areas to nourish, soften and soothe discomfort.
  • Lips: in a thin layer, as often as needed.
  • Hair: as a mask on the ends, then rinse out with one or two shampoos.
  • Nails and cuticles: to nourish nails and soften cuticles.
  • Makeup removal: to dissolve makeup thanks to its texture that turns into oil.
  • After sun exposure, shaving or hair removal: to soothe and protect the skin.
  • Blemish-prone skin: locally, on the affected areas.
How do you use the balm as a makeup remover?

The balm's rich texture removes makeup gently and very effectively. We recommend following these steps:

1) Warm a pea-sized amount of balm in the palm of your hand until it turns into oil.

2) Then apply the melted balm to your face and massage lightly with your fingertips in circular motions.

3) Finish by wiping a damp washable cotton round over your face to remove excess balm and makeup residue.

Note: this is a makeup-removing balm, not a cleanser. One of the most common skincare mistakes is thinking your skin is clean once you've removed your makeup. In fact, makeup removal only dissolves the first layer of surface impurities (pigments, sunscreen, etc.) thanks to its lipids. You need to follow up directly with a cleanse, using a product that emulsifies on contact with water to remove the last stubborn impurities, like our facial cleanser.

So these are two distinct, complementary steps.

Are the balms moisturizing or nourishing?

Made only of lipids, these balms are above all nourishing products. They form a protective barrier that helps limit water loss and dehydration.

On the face, apply your balm as the last step of your routine, after your moisturizer. This way, it complements hydration while nourishing and protecting sensitive, dry or very dry skin.

Do the balms leave a greasy or shiny finish on the face?

Their formula is made of lipids, including olive oil, beeswax and sweet almond oil. However, a small amount is enough: warm the equivalent of a small pea between your hands before applying it to your entire face.

The balms absorb quickly and leave no sticky or shiny effect when applied in the right amount.

Are the balms comedogenic?

All four balms contain olive oil, an oil considered low-comedogenic. They can also be applied locally to blemish-prone areas to nourish the skin and help maintain its balance.

From what age can the balms be used?

The Fragrance-Free Magic Balm can be used from birth. Thanks to its minimalist formula of eight ingredients, 100% natural origin and fragrance-free, it's particularly suited to babies' sensitive skin.

The scented Magic Balms (100% natural-origin fragrance) can be used from age 3.

Which balms in this Quartet can be used during pregnancy?

During pregnancy, choose the Fragrance-Free Magic Balm.

The Fragrance-Free Magic Balm can be used in particular as a massage on the belly, hips and thighs to nourish the skin and preserve its suppleness. For any questions about your personal situation, ask a healthcare professional for advice.
